To give an example on signaling that could be used I have attached a photo of on of the refineries Holly Frontier owns. They have used the TraffEX™ with a gas analyzer for an area of the refinery that has gas flowing through piping.
You can see in the photo they designed it to default to Green signaling a safe environment.
Should there be a leak detected the Yellow light turns on and the green light turns off. Should gas reach a level that is flammable the circuit cuts to RED signaling anyone in the area of danger. They also have an audible notification that is wired with the signaling.
